Thursday Aug 21st

I landed at JFK at 10:00 am to discover my friend Marie had text messaged me to say she won't be coming Thursday because her plane had been grounded. (I guess it broke curfew or didn't finish it's chores) No, really she was coming from Jacksonville FL and Tropical Storm Fay was coming back inland and wreaking havoc on Jacksonville. She was on standby, but we would later find out they just would change her status to "cancelled" for this weekend. :(

I went out to lunch with our listener JZ. We went to a little Italian restaurant and I had eggplant parm. It was really good. JZ is a really sweet guy, and was a lot of fun to have lunch with! :) He also brought me a pressie! I got Fantasy Island the first season on DVD! I adore that show! (THANKS JZ!)

After that, Larry Klye had arrived in town, so we were going to go get tickets to see Mary Poppins at the TKTS booth. Chef Mark called and we got together and had a couple of cocktails. As we were doing that, British John called and stopped by for a quick drink since he had out of town company.

Larry and I went to Mary Poppins, and it was a lot of fun. I took a tiny nap right at the begining, but only maybe for 10 minutes. (I didn't miss any of the important stuff!) After we were done, we met up with Freddy and Jed. Larry and I were hungry, so we finally found a pizza place and got some food. They were about to close, but stayed open and made our pizza....finally we left when they shut off the lights. It was good food and good company, and Freddy and Jed are adorable, as is Larry Klye. We got to hear him eat in person! ;)

New haircut.

So, yesterday I got my hair cut and highlighted. I asked for a trim...I got about 3" taken off. I didn't like it at first, but it's starting to grow on me, which is good, because at this point, what choice do I have? So here it is for your amusement. I couldn't decide which picture to use, so I just put both.

iPhone

Ok, this is seriously the best $300 I've ever spent. I love, love, love this fantastic piece of technology. It's revolutionized my life, and freed up a lot of time away from my computer. I adore being able to check my email accounts, twitter, the WMBYS web site, my stocks etc. Yay for the internet fitting in my pocket!

So, my fellow iPhone geeks....what's your favorite application? I'm a newbie, so tell me your favorite thing you do with your iPhone. :)

Drinking the Kool-Aid

Ok, so in my hot little hand I hold a shiny new black 16 gig 3G iPhone. I think we are likely destined to be best friends...maybe lovers...we'll see how it goes.

I've only had it for a couple of hours, but I think I'm quickly getting the hang of it. It's pretty user friendly, and that's good, because I'm not always good with the computer, but I'm usually a gadget savant. So I'm thinking this falls under the gadget category.

Walt--I've learned how to bookmark already! Proud much? I've also got all my various email accounts synced up to it, so I can compulsively check more often than I already do!

And I'd love to write more, but I must go caress the iPhone.

P.S. I will have no use for human contact in the future...I have a toy, and you've all become obsolete to me. ;)

wow!

I haven't posted in a month. Well a lot has happened, I just haven't been in the mood to write about it. We had a fire in the park preserve behind our house, and actually some of our yard burned, as well as our maple and box elder trees. Um, I should write the whole story and post the pics. I should. Dunno if I will though.

My stupid job was supposed to go back to regular hours on July 1st, but of course that didn't happen. They say we will be full time on July 28th. I'll believe it when I see it. I think I'm going to explore my options as a high priced call girl. ;)
